Butcher Block Table
The design was inspired by a local customer who wanted a smaller, lighter butcher block to use as a work table in her smallish kitchen.
The top of this one is made of oak from the old Verencamp barn in Hamburg, VA. The base is heart pine from an 1820’s house in Bridgewater, VA. The drawer, which has an oak “mushroom” handle harvested from an old dresser, can hold knives and other utensils.
The base has been treated with several coats of antique oil. The top has been left natural with a number of coats of mineral oil, safe for cutting meats and vegetables. If you do not choose to use it as a cutting board, it may be sealed with oil and wax like the rest of the piece. $395
