Oak Wash Stand
Rescued from a burn pile! This nicely restored piece was found painted white and missing doors, drawer and hand towel harp. In addition, the back right leg and bottom front leg were badly deteriorated. These were replaced using white oak from a barn which once stood near Hamburg, VA. The whole was stripped, sanded and finished with Minwax Golden Oak stain, two coats antique oil and a coat of tinted beeswax.
Only the hinges are original to the piece. All other hardware – knobs, drawer lock and escutcheon – are antique and harvested from other pieces of furniture too far gone to save. There are modern magnet catches for convenience. $210
